Sanlida Noble X8

Sanlida Noble X8

The Sanlida Noble x8 bow I picked it up for $90. I opted for a 70 inch length with a draw weight of 26 lbs. While browsing Amazon, I picked up one of those hand held luggage weight scales to use to check the draw weight of the bows. Using it on this bow the draw weight was 28.86 lbs. The kit this bow come in is fairly nice and simple. It has everything you need to get started. Arrows to protection gear. Two items I was not impressed with was the bow stringer, it is very specific to fit some bows limbs, not all.

Also, the arrows that came with this bow were too stiff at 500 spine. They nock right really bad, It's like they are on a mission to go sideways and take out that bird that keeps pooping on my truck.

With 700 spine arrows, much better. My groupings shrunk quickly as I got used to shooting this one. The bow does come with a sight, but I opted not to use it, I added a 4 inch stabilizer since there was a spot to add one, it does bring the bow into better balance, though I did try a 12 inch and 30 inch stabilizer for fun. Those did jot make a difference in my shots, but they certainly do not fit my shooting style.

This bow comes with a 23 inch riser that really balances out nicely. I like where the balance sits in my hand, it does want to tip back just a bit, I added a 4 inch stabilizer which honestly was just for fun, it does change the balance of the bow enough to notice but not enough to affect my shooting negatively and my arrows are still hitting their mark. Really, I have it there to keep the hand strap in place. I got the strap in a little kit from somewhere and it looks good on this bow. The stabilizer looks a little goofy, but I like it.

I am having a lot of fun shooting this one, it draws easily, it's also a loud bow, then again I am using the longest limbs available for this riser, noise is expected. It's one I want to reach for when I'm off to shoot, it's fun and with the right arrows it makes a difference. For example, the comparison of different arrows through the chronograph. The following arrows were tested:

500 spine fiberglass, the shot the slowest at 127 FPS. Next was 700 spine carbon fiber which clocked 169 FPS. The 800 spine fiberglass arrows only reach 136 FPS. Lastly were 1000 spine carbon fiber arrows which performed rather well at 162 FPS

I dont know, was that too many arrows tested? Let me know, I just kept going with what I have available.

Personally I prefer to shoot the 700 Spine Carbon Fiber, it flies the best for me. Also, I am having some fun making arrows as well, hopefully I can find a happy medium between how many arrows I test at a time so I am not shooting everything I have because my ADHD says too.

Sanlida Noble X8

I think I like this bow, but as far as looks go, it's okay. It doesn't stand out and grab your attention, except for the scribbling screened onto the limbs which distracts from its looks. Which I know is a personal issue as I don't want limbs written all over with the brand name. Sanlida is an offender in this case, their limbs look hideous, to me. But that's just my own personal preference.
