Welcome to my backyard

I'm a regular archer with a serious addiction to this hobby. I shoot a lot in my backyard. Hence the name of the website. As I keep looking for new ways to explore archery, I find myself buying new bows looking for just the right fit. I know unwise and I should stick with one bow and style of shooting and become the best I can be… Nope, not for me.

Archery shouldn't be stiff and rigid, it should be fun and relaxing, whether you hit the target or miss. Doesn’t matter as long as you are enjoying yourself. At least that’s what I think. Archery also shouldn’t be expensive and since I'm always shopping in the budget aisle, I figured I'll share my journey with the internet. Please check out my blog, any advice to improve is always welcomed. I have had duds, and some surprises along the way, good experiences and bad.

I'm always looking for new bows and gear, I'm always working on being a better archer each time I go out and shoot. But more importantly, I do it for fun. I shoot for about 5 hours a week. With that, I want to share how I am progressing and what I am learning. I am aiming to update the blog with a new review once a month.

In general, I find myself attracted more towards recurve bows, though as I am starting to pick up long bows and compound bows, I find myself mesmerized with each bow.. Each bow requires a different approach, some I find quickly, others take a long time before I’m comfortable and hitting my targets consistently.

If you have any recommendations or ideas on bows to try, please send them my way. Oh yeah, since I'm still working on my blog and bow reviews, do not be surprised to see these first few reviews updated and changed as I work out how I want to do this. They are not set in stone.

Oh yeah, I am not endorsing any of these bows, these are just my personal opinion on them. I also have no sponsors or endorsements. I am buying all these bows and equipment and gear from my own hard earned money. Nothing here is free.

Thank you for visiting,

Michael
